Four artists will auction their art for charity by justcalendars

The opening night of Project Five (Volume 8) at the Darling Quarter Village Green on Friday 30 September 2022 featured the live painting of four headline street artists. The artworks they created are now going under the hammer at an auction at the Lend Lease Darling Quarter Theatre (from 6pm) on Thursday 27 October 2022. Launching in 2022, Project Five is Australia’s longest-running contemporary street art project that was first conceived by aMBUSH Gallery. The collaboration has raised over $100,000 for Australian not-for-profit arts initiatives, while at the same time commissioning 32 urban artists, and entertaining millions of visitors. It has also hosted kids’ art workshops and a month long public exhibition at aMBUSH Gallery’s outdoor gallery space, OPEN, at Darling Quarter. This year, the charity is Monkey Baa Theatre Company.

The opening night included live painting by the four headline artists, a DJ spinning tunes, wine and canapes being circulated, and a crowd of onlookers observing the creation of the art.
